Our Origin

Launched in 2021, as a platform for business owners, artists, and performers from the LGBTQIA+ community - Maya Bazaar began as a way to amplify the presence of those less seen and heard, and to uplift communities and bolster livelihoods.

Veena Kulkarni

Founder, Road to Utopia, and Co-founder, Maya Bazaar

Veena has worked in the Learning and Development space for 15 years. Over the last 20+ years, they have transitioned into DE&I sensitisation. Road to Utopia is Veena's brainchild to empower workplaces to achieve their DE&I goals. They consider Maya Bazaar as yet another stepping stone to making inclusion and equity the norm and not the exception.
Sanam Dembla

Co-founder, Maya Bazaar, Panda Rolling, and Threads of Gold

Sanam has an experience of 15+ years in the Expo, Events, and Exhibitions industry. Having travelled across the globe and visited the best exhibitions in the world, Sanam aims to take Maya Bazaar international in the coming years.
Swathi C G

Entrepreneur and Community Manager, Maya Bazaar

Swathi has worked in the role of Strategic Alliance and Partnerships at Road to Utopia. She aims for Maya Bazaar to be a safe space accessible to the LGBTQIA+ community while also becoming a platform that empowers queer entrepreneurs and business owners to become successful.
